Downtown LA Proper is housed in a landmark Curlett and Beelman Renaissance Revival building from the 1930’s. Today its 148 rooms and suites, masterfully transformed by Kelly Wearstler, marry Mexican modernism with elements from France and Morocco, and original works by local artists. Two dining establishments are helmed by James Beard Award-winning chef Suzanne Goin and Caroline Styne, a split-level rooftop pool-deck offers panoramic views of the city and 14,000 square feet of event spaces, including a suite fashioned from a vintage basketball court and another incorporating an indoor pool, make for memorable gatherings.
